i love cinnamon

I love cinnamon! For some reason, I associate cinnamon with nice, warm, and cozy feelings. The fragrance of cinnamon is like no other. On a cold winter day, there is nothing more soothing and healing then a hot mug of steaming cinnamon tea. Cinnamon tea is not only great for producing a wonderful aroma, but cinnamon is believed to have a number of health benefits for people who suffer from arthritis, diabetes, kidney stones, and even balding.
If you are a tea lover like myself and are looking for something new, give it a try; I know you will not be disappointed. Cinnamon tea goes great with dessert, especially anything made with apple as the flavours truly compliment each other. If you are ever looking for a great way to naturally make your house smell wonderful, look no further. Throw those harmful fragrance sprays and scented candles in the garbage!
Ingredients:
  • 8 cups of water (you can make this individually or make a huge batch for your family)
  • 3 large cinnamon sticks
Optional:
  • 1 teabag of black tea or your favourite loose leaf tea
  • Warm milk
  • Lemon
  • Sugar or honey (or your sweetener of choice)
Preparation:
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add cinnamon sticks to boiling water. Boil for 5 minutes on high, and then simmer for 10-15 minutes.
There are several variations when making cinnamon tea. After cinnamon has simmered, you can then add teabag if desired. I like adding the teabag for extra taste. Then, pour into your favourite mug and enjoy!
