halloween fun

Just stopping in to say hi because we have been on the go for the last week or so.We have been having a spooktacular time around here as we prepare for Halloween. The kids have been running around the house knocking on all the doors yelling trick-or-treat. The costumes are ready, the candy has been bought and the pumpkins have been carved. We are ready for you, Halloween!

I have been so busy that I haven't taken the time to grab the good camera, so thank you to my camera phone and Instagram. If you haven't joined me on Instagram, what are you waiting for?!?!?

mr.personality

This momma has been under the weather for the last two weeks. I was hit with a cold that does not want to go away. It probably doesn't help that sleep around here is sparse which isn't allowing my body to re-coup, but I am determined to fight this thing off. I am a having an off-day and needed a smile to cheer me up. Well, Baby D did just that. He has spoiled me with hugs and kisses all morning and even told me a few jokes to get a chuckle out of me.

Baby D is bursting at the seams with personality these days. He always has a smile on his face, a hug to give and can always pull out the silly antics to get you smiling. It has been mission impossible to get his picture. He has decided there is no way mommy is going to take any more pictures of him. Well, I managed to get a few and had to share...

Hope you are all having a fabulous week!

1 month

This past Sunday, our little man reached his one month old milestone. It feels like just yesterday I walked in the door with a new bundle of joy. We have been blessed with one of the most precious gifts and I am thankful each and every day. Yes, there are many sleepless nights and dirty diapers but I would not change it for a thing.

During the first month, you battled jaundice but this week we finally got a clear bill of health. I guess all of your sunbathing paid off. You are such a big eater, always looking to fill your belly. You are just over 10 pounds and I can't believe the amount of clothes you have already grown out of. Your body is in overdrive as you are learning to control your muscles - the last few days, you have almost knocked mommy out a few times. You are finally starting to focus on objects like mommy and daddy and can recognize our voices. You are beginning to coo and I absolutely love it. It is beautiful music to my ears. The other day, you smiled at me for the first time and my heart melted. Every day, you seem to smile more and more, those are the moments I cherish and look forward to each day. Mommy would like to also thank you for the two nights you let me sleep 6 hours. Feel free to do that more often! I can't wait to watch you continue to grow.

pumpkin patch

Heigh-Ho Heigh-Ho, it's off to the pumpkin patch we go... this past weekend we headed to our local pumpkin patch. We met up with our friends who have kiddos the same age as ours and are also expecting any day now. The kids always love getting together with them and were super happy to roam the pumpkin patch together.

We checked out all the pumpkins, played about in the hay, went for a wagon ride, checked out the corn maze and finished up by filling our bellies with wood oven pizza. We lucked out as the weather was perfect - warm and sunny. We have had an Indian summer and I am not going to complain one bit.

Alright, prepare yourselves for picture overload, but I couldn't help myself as these little ones are too adorable not to snap photos of all day long!

country fair

The fall would not be the same with out hitting up an ol' country fair. Last weekend, we headed to our local fair for an afternoon of animals, rides and fair food.

The weather was perfect, it was bright sunny fall day. The kids were able to go outside without hats and jackets and I didn't mind spending my afternoon outdoors soaking up the sunshine. Baby D was super excited about all the animals. He is fascinated with animals and the sounds they make. He thought it was so cool to feed and talk to all the animals. We had to drag him home as he would have stayed there all night with them.

Little Miss L. on the other hand was only interested in the amusement park. This year, she showed no fear and conquered several rides. If it was up to her, she would have rode them all day long. Baby I decided it was a good afternoon to snooze and didn't even bother to open his eyes once.

Another fall activity checked off our family to-do list... it was a wonderful afternoon spent at the fair. The kiddos are looking forward to next year's fair!

3 weeks

Happy Friday everyone! This past week has been a tough one around here. Our house has been infested with germs (one of the reasons why I was not too happy to have the little miss start school this year.) Little Miss L. and Baby D have been under the weather for several days now. I am hoping they are over the worst of it and on the mend.

Baby I has been making himself at home. I promise to share my birth story soon. Baby I has overcome a few bumps over the past few weeks but I am happy to say he is doing great. I can't believe our little man is almost a month old!

I absolutely love the above photo and had to share it with all of you. Every day, Baby D pulls out all of this cars to show his little brother. He runs through the colours and the make of the cars as he looks up after each car to make sure his little brother is paying attention.  Baby D can't wait until his brother is old enough to play cars with him.

Well, the long weekend is here and I am happy we will be spending it with friends and family. Our family has so many things to be thankful for. I can't wait to fill my belly with scrumptious food. I may be 5 pounds heavier after this weekend but I will be one happy momma.

Have a great long weekend from our family to yours!

and now she is 4!

Today, my beautiful daughter, is your fourth birthday. As your parents, we celebrate today all of your accomplishments over the past four years. You are no longer our little baby dependent on your mommy and daddy to carry you along. You are now an independent, funny and compassionate little girl who has accomplished so much over the past 4 years. In the last year you:

-started your first year of school
-are always there to help mommy bake in the kitchen
-can dresses yourself, including when you have to do up the buttons or zipper yourself
-have shown us your skills in gymnastics and dance
-are learning to speak French
-are always there to take care of your little brothers
-are our lucky charm when it comes to calming your brothers - you always know how to soothe Baby I when he is crying
-can write your own name as well as your brothers'
-shown us your love of singing and dancing
-can count to 10 in three different languages
-decided to swim on your own

My dear, these are only a few of your accomplishments and I can't wait to watch you achieve even more. You have a strong personality, you like to tell it how it is but you have to be one of the most compassionate human beings I have ever met. Your love for others is like no other, please don't ever lose that. You make me laugh each and every day as you are quick on your feet when it comes to making one smile.

Happy 4th Birthday my beautiful daughter.

Love,
Mom
